UNIQUE PIECE

NECKLACE

Black walnut · Criollo walnut · Bronze · Braided leather

Mendoza is Argentina’s leading walnut-producing province, with its main groves in the Uco Valley. Criollo walnut descends from the trees the Spanish brought to Argentina; black walnut, native to North America, is also used as a rootstock onto which walnut trees are grafted.

This necklace brings both woods together, from the Uco Valley, joined with bronze and bronze wire.

Wood carved by sculptor Pablo Comadrán.

Leather braided by the Huarpe community of Lavalle, Mendoza.
